Right, Updating my ipod for the first time in many years, looking for some good ski music for my first actual ski holiday in 8 years!!!
I use music to get my head and blood pumping, so looking for some upbeat stuff, don't really care what; electronic, rock, indie, D&B, Dubstep dan't care though probably not that american rap type stuff!
What Does everyone use to get fired up??
p.s. Don't want to debate whether i should be listening to music on the mountain!!
Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person

the chorus "Jachzet, frohlocket" from Bach's Christmas Oratorio is one of mine.
Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

It's an oldie but Sabotage by the Beastie Boys always gets me going. Queens of the Stoneage are another band I always have on my ipod when I need a boost. I've not tried them skiing/boarding but they work for me when running.
And another on the vaguely appropriate lyrics theme, for when you come across someone parked in the middle of a piste, this: http://youtube.com/v/sJqCJEHzM5c

But seriously - at the risk of sounding like an old fuddy duddy I don't think listening to music while skiing is a particularly great idea on safety grounds. Done it before but with in-ear headphones especially you feel like you are in a bubble. Definitely less aware of other people etc.
and for more chilled moments, preferably in the sun, snaking down a nice blue. Get that pelvic switch going. Buena Vista Social Club "El Carretero" http://youtube.com/v/FGInFRwIOQc
So if you're just off somewhere snowy come back and post a snow report of your own and we'll all love you very much

A lot of nice tunes here (anton aus tirol can drop dead) but most seem kinda cool, chillout tunes!
What would you listen to rightbefore you push off down a slope you are very much not sure about! when you want to be as awake as possible before something goes wrong??
You know it makes sense.

M83 : Midnight City. The Album version is good, but this Eric Prydz remix is better:

What really amazes me is that most people choose to listen to the sort of music above and dance (House, Trance, Euphoria) is probably a big percentage of what people are playing on their earbuds/headphones (not condoning skiing/boarding with them) but when I go to a bar in the evening, the manager has inevitably booked* some horrendous hardcore gangster rap/Dub step/ragga jungle type DJ that makes me 'wanna pop a cap in your 4rse, mother f***er', rather than have a nice chilled out evening.
These music genres are so minority that despite frequenting most 'happening' areas of London, I only get exposed to them on skiing holidays. Do bar owners book this sort of music because they think people like it, or because that's the only choices they have? Does anyone like it?
* The big exception to this is The Cheerleaders who play Tignes. They are great.

Sun by Caribou, as featured on this avi vid that's being discussed on another thread.
Every time I hear it I just think about that slo-mo shot in the sun @ ~22 secs.
