Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Does anyone habitually ski in St Anton in early April?
Due to work commitments the earliest I can get to go this winter will be 7th April and would like to know what the snow conditions are like at that time of year.
Appreciate it is a bit late but wet/hot skiing is better than no skiing (and I couldn't go at all last year after 7 full seasons and doing something every year since 1985). Growing up sucks.

I am going out there on the 14th April this year. First time for me going there in April but you may be interested in people's response to my question about historic snow depths for mid April.

Yeah I've been in April a few times. Its usually a bit chilly early on and thats the best time to ski. We've always called it a day after lunch cos its turned to treacle by then. However, it can still turn very cold at that time of the year so you may be lucky. Its not so frantic in April, people seem more chilled out. As for Apres ski.....The Mooserwirt will still be open, but not much else, but there are still bars and restaurants open in the town. I have to say we have always enjoyed it at that time of year.

You'll likely get lots of super fun slush, if not, it'll be snowing and you'll get freshies. Get the big skis out either way.
Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

We went a few years ago on the second to last week of the season.

, has it about right, I'd say. Though we did get the bus round to Lech (about 20/30 minutes if memory serves) for a few days - the good snow seemed to hang on till later in the afternoon there.
