The best price I can find for ski hire in St Anton is Sport Jennewein Ski in Nasserein which is a Sport2000 store. Has anyone got any experience of this shop/chain and the quality of kit? I must admit the ski hire in St Anton is not cheap compared to France for example ;-(

Have you tried getting prices through alpinresorts? The shop you have just mentioned is the one I have booked (through Alpinresorts) with but as we don't go till April I can't comment on them yet.

NickyJ, yes thanks, I'm looking to book via ALPINRESORTS which is why I think it's a little cheaper than the other stores.

If you say so, but I am personally more than happy with our deal. Ski, boot and helmet hire for both girls, and ski hire for me and Hubby, £175.
That I thought was very good.

That's a very good deal, if you turned up in the resort you'd be lucky to rent a single pair of skis for a week for that price. Booking on line is the only way to save money in St Anton, if you wait until you get there all the prices are the same, and not cheap, as Nadenoodlee says it's a cartel.
Did you have a promo code for AlpineResorts? The best price I can get for a weeks hire for a single pair though them is €114 (which is pretty good for St Anton).
([edit] price was actually €114 for the cheapest option)

brianr, yes, I use Jennewein a lot, great service. Can be busy, but that's true everywhere in St Anton so try to avoid rush hour. If you are not staying right by the lift you can leave skis and boots there overnight which is very handy. The "mid range" skis tend to be the high end skis from last season or the season before, so some cosmetic wear but actually every bit as good as the top of the range, so I never fork out for their high end stuff. Not sure I'd buy stuff from them, or anyone else in town, gear is far cheaper on line or in the UK.

sah, used the discount code through this site I think it is automatic through the clicky thing that automatically comes up when you up in the name AlpinResorts. I think we got particularly good discounts as we are going last week of the season.

NickyJ, wow that does seems like a good price for St Anton, well done. Did you have a doscount code? I'm using an ALPINRESORTS discount code I got via email (news101). It's coming in at just over £300 for teenage skis/boots, adult skis/boots and adult skis. That is what they call 4*, so not top end, it is Feb high season though.
sah, thanks for the advice.
If anyone is interested, I also received an ALPINRESORTS discount code for France (news133). Some friends used it for this weekend in Morzine, it does come in a lot cheaper that St Anton.

Mushc cheaper than the central St A cartel - 100 Euros for decent skis and boots for the week. You do have to pick up/drop off from pettneu down the road, though.
