Sorry for the dramatic title, but would really welcome some advice from Forum members on where we might be able to purchase a decent quality ski jacket, and salopettes that would be comfortable for a larger lady. We have really struggled to find anywhere that has anything that will fit. Ideally looking for a store or online retailer that has some larger sizes or specialises in such, or anyone who has experience through maker similar purchase. In a bit of a panic because flying to Canada for our trip on 26.12, so any advice gratefully received. Manay thanks in advance.

Thanks - had a look at both and cant see anything specifically oversize, is there anyone out there who's bought one recently ? Im guessing a baggy snowboard jacket would be best ?

My wife is fairly short, five four, but a bit larger size wise so, looking for something that wont swamp her but would give her a bit more 'round the middle to top' ! She's panicing now as everyone else in the family is 'sorted' for their gear and is worrying about not finding anything.....

Try your local Helly Hanson outlet, they tend to do the larger sizes.

I think TK Max is pretty useless for anything above a size 12. Decathlon goes up to XXL and Trespass up to size 18.

If you are anywhere near Gloucester Quays outlet there are HH, Trespass and Mountain Warehouse all next to each other. As said above larger sizes are available.

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

Would it not be cheaper to buy when out there and also have an increased chance of finding larger sizes, that are women specific.

My sister in law is a lot shorter than your OH, but also large. When she came on a trip with us a few years ago she hired a jacket - it did swamp her, length-wise, but was warm and waterproof. She definitely didn't want to buy such a garment, as normally she's beautifully dressed. It was a man's XL and gave her enough room.
I find ski jackets do come up small. I invariably find I have to go up from my normal size in order to feel comfortable and have rooms for layers underneath. So going by the published size of anything might be difficult - best to try on.

Great advice about getting snowboard gear. Im 6'2 and most XL salopets are too short for me and I end up looking like a boarder anyway, so I just started buying boarder stuff. Much more comfortable

I find that Eider are more roomy than Schoffel (though I prefer Schoffel styling). As someone that eerrr understands your problem I would suggest TK-Maxx mens section - there are lots of unisex style jackets in reds, green and yellows to play around with.

Try a google for "White Rock". Some styles (like this one) go right up to size 30.

I've bought ski wear from a company called Ulla Popken. I think they're German but they have a UK base. The great thing is they cater up to a size 30 and have a choice of jackets which is a rarity. Have to admit I've only bought ski pants from them but they are exellent quality. I know it's too late for your trip to Canada, but well worth a look for next time.
