That looks very quiet for October half-term. I thought that view would be full of gates and eager young racers.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

No race lanes in that section right at the top, and not that busy really elsewhere, although the queues for the first funicular at 8.30am have been getting steadily longer...
A few racers around though...

Looks nice - fingers crossed for a bit more snow.
Is Hannah enjoying the training?

PG, I'm waxing our skis tonight for the PSB. How cold is it on the glacier?

spyderjon, the new snow cut up badly early on, no hard frost last night (probably not much below zero at 3000m). To give you an idea, the kids in the photo were standing around in catsuits from first thing and none were complaining of the cold...

Glad to hear it's going well. Snow looks very soft; that can't be fun, bet there were holes developing all over the place.

(I have no shares in Trespass by the way )
Bit overcast today, not particularly cold, no snow. Ever larger chunks of the glacier given over to race training lanes, and it was soon very noticeable how little snow there was in the narrow free skiing areas except right up at 3500. Within the first hour we were mostly down to the ice, although there was plenty of fun to be had in the soft stuff thown to the edge of the piste. Queues for lifts still not too bad, but the population of Tignes is growing by the day.

PG, Great photos. If you see Boredsurfin tonight say "hi" from me - I think he may be arriving at BSM this evening?

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

Mouth, all being well we'll all be up at Tignes tomorrow am!
Grimsby Ranger, having fun, yes - some of the time! From fifteen members of the GB team to start with, it's down to thirteen... with a broken thumb for one youngster and concussion for another meaning a trip to hospital and no more skiing for a while. Nothing serious, but glacier training is a tough regime! Up at the crack of, a free-for-all to get on the first funicular (when will Tignes get its act together and organise things properly?), and really difficult courses set to test the kids to the limit over some very long days on the mountain.
Couple of shots of the mountain today, perfect weather - here (snow looking a bit thin lower down) and here.
Harriet Steggles - of the Norwich, Dragons and GB teams
