Well - I wear a helmet, so perhaps it would have to be a helmet cover.

I saw a crocheted Gimli helmet/beard combo, and because I'm ever so slightly geekish, loved it.
Which led me to a lady who makes custom ones.

Annnyway - just doing a vague poll of who would be seen in public with me (skiing {friends have vetoed it as normal London cold-weather wear}) were I to wear such a thing, or whether the 'total knobend' factor would lose the humour and just mean I'd look too much of a tw@t.

friend of a friend had a sick sense of humour, so used to make knitted toys like that, but mutilated. can't find website right now, so you'll just have to imagine. toys with missing heads, severed limbs or inside out were quite common.
thinking about it, friend also has sick sense of humour - i'm sure she would knit/crotchet something artistic... for a fee.
