Help!!
Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

A snowHead
Hubby has agreed to treat me to a pair of Hestra Army Leather Heli Ski Mitts (the regular ones, not the women specific fit), but I can't work out which size to order. because I am in between two sizes. My perimeter size is almost exactly 8" (the size
but length is 7.8" (which is just over the size 9). If I go for the size 9 and correct length, will the width be ridiculous? Conversely, if I go for the 8, will they be way to short?
Unfortunately I live too far away from any stockist to try a pair on beforehand so will have to take the plunge and order online. Any help would be much appreciated!

Personally I'd say Hestras come out a bit big, I've got fairly long but fairly thin hands, according to the size chart here
http://www.edgeandwax.co.uk/blog.aspx?tag=hestra
I come out as between 9 and 10 on length and 8 and 9 on perimiter, and actually for pretty much every other brand of glove I am a size 9. I've got 3 pairs of Hestras (Short Army, Skicross and Seth Morrison 3 fingers) and all of them are size 8! I do like gloves to be fairly snug fitting but if I were you I'd go with 8s
Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Buy both sizes then return the ones you do not want. Postage would only be a couple of quid.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Size 9 would be big for a girl. Mine are size 9 and fit a treat, I have slightly short fingers.
OH tried them on and they were huge.

I tried the 3 finger mitts and the 'normal' 5 fingered gloves, and the size that fitted best was different for each. Not much help I know, other than saying it might not be so straightforward
