I've had a look and perhaps I'm not searching for the right terms on the forum.
Heading to St.Anton and looking for some recommended places to eat out.

Nick-o, If you like traditional Austrian style food then I quite like the Trödlerstube which is not far from the town church. They also have an adjacent restaurant called "The Train" which specialises in fondues.

There's a nice steakhouse in the high street, all very contemporary looking, has a pizzeria upstairs and downstairs something akin to a gaucho grill. The meats were very good.
Perhaps someone can assist with the name??!!??

+1 Very good. In fact I found little to fault any of the places I ate in.

Sounds strange, I know, and not sure if it's still there, but the railway station had an excellent and very good value restaurant.

Pomodoro for Pizza - Excellent
Agree with halfhand, pretty much all places are very good. Only place we didn't enjoy was Seiten Blick. Food was good but windows are very drafty and its therefore uncomfortable.

Floriani, up the hill, on the left, from the Galzigbahn roundabout. Great food at good prices (and Tuesdays are ribs day)

I thought the Funky Chicken was ..er.. worse than a common or garden Nando's, but I understand that whole place went up in flames like sort of king-sized rotisserie sometime last year. Won't be missed.
halfhand you probly had the good sense to avoid the place and in my defence I was dragged in there by my associates after a refreshing afternoon in the Krazy Kangeroo. (I'm seeing a pattern here - perhaps the best advice is to avoid places named after animals)

Is by me (not for food) - was one of the best late night bars in Anton, one of the few that played rock/metal/indie rather than just dance/trance-type stuff.

Mooserwirt is excellent for lunch (KK's isn't bad either) on the hill, so are many other places though (you'll find it hard to go wrong). The Museum is very good for dinner off the hill but not cheap, Bobos has some pretty damn good Mexican food, Pomodoros for pizza (or the Tirolean Meat Feast pizza in Scotties later on), Maximillian's (think that's the name?) is pretty good, had kangaroo meat too the last time I was there (2008, so might have changed). Lots of options.

Is Pomodoros still there? I heard a rumour it was knocked down to build a hotel or something? Shame - was always GREAT pizza.

Nadenoodlee, no it's still there, jut up the road a bit. The original restaurant was knocked down the same time as the Funky Chicken was to make way for Anthony's. On the subject of building work earlier in the week there was a lot going on at the Hotel Alte Post, where they used to have an umbrella bar. Not sure what they are up to.
In terms of food I am rather partial to Bodegas tapas.

St anton is not good for vegetarians... A friend was once given a pudding smothered in cream as the vegetarian option for her main course!

stephen buck, The Alps as a whole are tricky territory for vegans or non dairy consuming vegetarians. Cheese and meat being pretty central ingredients to much of the cuisine.
St Anton isn't great for vegetarians, but having visited several times with a vegetarian friend she did manage to navigate her way around.

nozawaonsen, Agree - vegetarians are often ok with all the various cheese options / salads / soups etc, but for vegans it must be a nightmare in ski resorts! (not too easy for them in the Uk or most other countries, either, I imagine...)

Timmaah, I stand corrected - gawd knows where I got that idea from
T'was 2011 when I was there and the place had the feel of somewhere on the downward slope - so I guess they knew then it was closing and the atmosphere suffered accordingly.
Thinking on, we also had a nice meal in the Lux Alpinae hotel up the hill a bit from the Rendl bubble

Yes it had a good reputation, but I think it has now closed down
As already mentioned Fuhrman Stube, on right before church, is good. Floriani, again mentioned above, up Altestrasse from roundabout, is good value and good menu including pizzas. Floriani gets very busy though, no reservations, waiting for a place can be up to half an hour or even longer!!
Haxenstube, by Galzigbahn, is also worth a visit.
Most of the eating places get very busy during early evening, 8ish, so it might just be a case of finding one with a table free.
Cafe Sailer, on the roundabout, always has a table available, limited menu and atmosphere.
There is also the Museum restaurant, for special occasion, not cheap, but unusual setting dining amongst the artifacts!!

Sitter, the station restuarant I remember was bistro style. Didn't know about the Thai place, so will look it up in Jan. Thanks.

Guess it was a couple of seasons ago then? Not tried the buddh myself but a number of friend have and they've really enjoyed it.
Can recommend the Fuhrmanstube, ate there last summer with my sister and really enjoyed it, a few thugs for her to choose from too (she's wheat free so a lot of stuff not always suitable)

Your sister likes thugs?
I wonder if there may be confusion between the old station and the new one?
Cafe Sailer rather looks like it is waiting for the money for a massive redevelopment. Prime location, unappealing tired 70s decor.
Haxenstube has been closed for a couple of years replaced by Seiten Blick which I really liked (but go downstairs not upstairs as it has a much nicer Stube feeling on the ground floor).
The Underground is my favourite.

nozawaonsen, thanks for the update. I was assuming the reference was to the old station as is my comment. Yes, Cafe Sailer is lacking, but have sometimes I have sought refuge there when everywhere else is busy. I once passed through the cafe to a table at the back when the shelf mounted tv decided that it had enough of life and through itself to the floor in a very impressive blaze of glory. However, the locals, who were watching some handball match, were less than impressed by my passage through!!!

Mooserwirt Hotel (not the bar!) is also very good for dinner.... and if sitting by the window, nice views of the clients from 'downstairs' stumbling home!
Museum (as recommended above).
Both are bordering on 'fine dining' (so >50euros/head), the Museum being the more traditional of the two (i.e. most clients dress up).
