This will be the first time travelling with skis for me, I've heard you collect them from trolleys close to the baggage reclaim carousel but where are they usually? Should I get my skis before my luggage as I'm on my own. I'm travelling on a Sunday, is this quieter than a Saturday?

RichardB, They've moved it this year. It's now a carousel (only it doesn't go all the way round) at the far end of baggage reclaim.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Claude B, so its still separate from the normal carousel ? I'm thinking of using a spare Inghams bag label on my ski bag!

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Claude B, Thanks, do you think I should go for skis first or luggage? Its all a bit daunting right now!

You'll need to Register first of course.

Makes no difference really, Geneva is fairly efficient.

Last time I went that way, the skis arrived while I was working out which carousel the bags would arrive on. And I had no passport control / immigration (Schengen area).

|
Well its good to know its efficient, although I get a mental image of myself wading through a pile skis trying to find my own!

Really??? You need more stress in your life if which to collect first is daunting

RichardB, are you mental or rich? Dont you cram all your gear in your ski bag to avoid extra baggage costs?
Luggage area. Far right as you enter, suggest bag first as its easier to get around with a bag in a scrum than with your skis around the chaos of the carousels.

snowHeads are a friendly bunch.

Last year in geneva they kind of just had a table in the back corner with loads of skis chucked on.
It really doesn't matter what you get first they quite close together anyway

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

They all come out side by side - so no piles to wade through. They did used to pile them on a trolley - which resulted in a scrum of frenzied passengers trying to rip their bag out from the bottom of the pile.
Cue my Captain Mainwairing organisational skills (common sense?) - encouraging people to assist in taking them off the trolley and lying them all on the floor - starting (somewhat obviously ) at the top of the pile.....
