Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Ache after the season is over

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hiya
Have just returned after completing my second season, with an average of 6 days a week though not many full days
I am a fairly fit 55 year old and telemark. Had the usual muscle soreness throughout the season (as the fitness increased I pushed more to achieve the same discomfort threshold)
But on returning the knee and muscle ache seems to have suddenly increased and now only easing off after a couple of weeks
Is this normal?
I have noticed in previous years an ache after a week or 2 skiing where I just assumed it was a delayed soreness
But this year was considerably worse than last

Of course it could just be I am an old git

I wouldn't be too concerned if it's settling.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?
Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?
It might be psychological.

I get all over body pains and aches after I come back from my last week of skiing for the year which I am sure is directly related to a mild depression

Rocksteadee, I'm the same age as you and did 9 weeks this season, 3 in January and the last 6 of the season. I've suffered a lot with back aches and am now having to have physio to get it sorted. Age and ongoing problems here. Knees were fine though apart from the odd day or so.
