Hi and can someone advise me where to get a 'packing insert' to stick/place on the inner edge of my right ski boot.
Following numerous knee operations it is now clearly evident my natural/comfortable position of my right foot is to have not quite flat.
Is this over or under probate?
Anyway any tips would be appreciated

Is your skiing a little dead as a result?

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

roche1800, are you trying to 'correct' the pronation or hold your foot stable in it's natural position?

Mosha Marc, Skiing isn't dead, I want to see if some packing reduces knee pain

rob@rar, I want to hold my foot on its natural position, eg the outer edge on the bottom of my trainers wear down a lot more on the outer edge on my right than my left. There is no wear on the inside edge. I guess my current liners will make my sole flat in an un natural position in turn causes issues in my knee which is painful, do 6 weeks minimum a year.

roche1800, maybe think about getting/re-doing custom footbeds and them making modifications to the boot or the baseplate (underneath the footbed) to ensure the ski runs flat. Footbed will hold your foot in it's natural/comfortable position (which sounds like supination), boot mods will sort out alignment. Job for a boot fitter who knows about alignment?

roche1800, book an appointment with CEM/Andi McCann for their alignment analysis/shimming correction etc & they'll sort out not only tyour lateral alignment but also give you a recommended delta set-up etc.

DB,
Is that the link you meant to post here? I think they are more likely talking about remoulded winter tyres than moulded ski boot insoles

occurs to me you ought to see the pros, but i use Orthoheels from Boots, and they are a revelation.
used them in my shoes generally during recouperation from an achilles injury, but i put them in my ski boots and it was amazing the improvement to my skiing

what you DO NOT what to do is jam something under the arch to "pack" the foot up, this will often result in a feeling like you are standing on a golf ball, a well made footbed should balance your foot in its correct (neutral) position, if there is an imbalance in the forefoot then a good boot fitter will recognise this and accommodate it, the cuff of the boot then needs to be set up to accommodate the shape of your lower leg, then only after all that is taken care of do you need to be looking at any form of alignment/balance assessment, this is really the icing on the cake and a fine tuning to the foundation work of the footbed and the correct boot set up.
pressure on the outside of your running shoe could be either a result of pronation or a foot which doesn't pronate enough...it all depends on the type of shoe and the position of the wear/fit of the shoe in the first place

You know it makes sense.

Well it appears I need some form of custom footbeds! Thanks

roche1800, just from my own experience there are custom footbeds and there are custom footbeds....I've had a few pairs made in the past by various umm...fitters, but with every pair I've had I always had the feeling of skiing on the outside edge on one ski and felt pressure on the outside part running the full length of that foot so having to make tiring and painful compensations for it, for all of that time I just got on with it and thought I've got custom footbeds so it must be me? Wrong! With CEM's footbed mastery backed up with Andi's alignment knowledge my problems gone...
As CEM says the alignment side may be the icing on the cake but "what a difference it makes" to your fwd/aft and lateral balance!

I suffer from this, I've got a set of insoles that I use in shoes and ski boots. I do get heel lift in my ski boots though, I need to get that sorted
