Hi guys,
Since we have started our site to help travellers find airport transfers we have quickly realised how many of you are travelling solo or in small numbers. This of course means that transfers can be quite expensive and it is frustrating to know that on your flight probably a few other people must be heading to the same resort as you.
For this reason we decided to come up with a forum where you can quickly enter your details and hopefully find other people heading in the same direction.
We will also encourage the transfer companies on our site to advertise their 'empty legs' and sell those on a per seat basis.
We really hope that this will make everyone's life easier and save some money on your holiday. This will of course only work if as many of you use it as possible! http://www.findtransfers.com/shared_transfers.asp
Please let us know what you think!
(We don't make any commission on transfers and I am publishing this here as I think it will be really useful for all the users!)

Dia_FindTransfers, this is more for future reference, I'm already sorted for a shared transfer to Les Coches with the chalet company I'm booked with, but which resorts I as a single most likely to get one with?

RichardB, I would say that resorts closer to airports have the best shared options. This is because they have a lot more skiiers on "Short Breaks" and weekends, and also because transfer companies are not risking as much if they can't fill vans due to the shorter distances. So for France, think Morzine, Les Gets, the Grand Massif and Chamonix. There are however lots of shared options to and from bigger resorts, such as Méribel, Courchevel and Val d'Isere on Saturdays.
The good thing about sharing transfers is that you can always share a transfer to places at the bottom of the hill, such as Moutiers or Bourg St Maurice in the case of France, and from there a taxi or bus is a lot cheaper than all the way from the airport.
Hope this helps!

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Dia_FindTransfers, Thanks for the info, I'm glad that a shared transfer was available through the chalet company, this is the first time I've booked independently and it's all a bit daunting, especially on the transfer side!

We have the first few people looking for shared transfers on the page! Please let everyone know about it that might need shared transfers to make it easier for people to join up! It will not only save money but will be better for the environment not having lots of empty minibuses!

Thinking about going to Les Arcs this year. Which is the best airport for a shared transfer?

Charlie_B, Your best bet is probably Geneva. Once you have booked flights just put your details on the Forum and companies can get in touch with you. Also if you see anyone else going your way you can team up with them.
The good thing about Les Arcs is that you can get the funicular from Bourg St Maurice for free and plenty of companies go through there. I'm sure you will find something good!

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

Not going very well tbh
Put a request up for the 15th, had 2 messages from CHEMINS DIVERS. but they said the 7th Dec. I emailed Serge from Chemin back saying I wanted transfer on the 15th, and he replied saying he can't do the 7th!!!
So I've emailed him back on Thursday saying I do want the 15th but not heard anything back

You know it makes sense.

kitenski, How strange! Hopefully it will get sorted but if not other companies might have shared availability coming up for your date soon!

Apart from anything else, this forum may well help to demonstrate which companies are flaky, and which can be relied on. Shall follow with interest...
