Poster: A snowHead

Direct Debit all set up but the money was never taken so now I am not a member. I had intended to re join but now have to make an active decision. Discount on next year's holiday already secured so the motivation is reduced.
Tricky.....

Re-join in resort with the rep and get two years for the price of one?

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

As a single skier I ski with reps quite often only reason I rejoined this year, discounts are available and not exclusive to the skiclub

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Apparently they were late taking the Direct Debits this year which meant for about a week we were showing as not being members. Are you sure they haven't subsequently activated your DD? Otherwise if you've already got your holiday discount I'd do as Alastair says and rejoin in resort, if you're going where there's a rep.

Silly question, but have you asked SCGB what's going on? I guess the question is do you wish to continue with your membership, or just rejoin in resort.

One apparent slip in a payment collection is probably not significant. I've not checked to see if my annual SCGB DD has been debited, but will have a look now.
What I will say is that our national ski club must maximise its number of subscription payers to maximise its worth and influence. Therefore, the loss of any member - any member - is a concern.
Likewise, the recruitment of new members is vital. The Club is at the Ski Show this week, so the number of people who join there is important.
If anyone has any new ideas for making the Club more attractive to British skiers - e.g. what should the annual subscription rate be? What should be expected in return for that? - these could be worth chewing over.
It would be interesting to hear from anyone who belongs to a local or regional ski club. Is it valuable to you? What do you pay?

Weel, they didn't take mine either - but's that's 'cos I cancelled it. They really have nothing that I want that I can't get cheaper and/or better elsewhere, once you take into account the cost of the subscrption.
