Whilst icecarting last week in Saalbach my better half was splashed with oil over one side of her Schoffel jacket.
I just wondered if anyone has experience of cleaning this off (the jacket is bright green).

try swarfega (green if you can get it ) followed by a good wassh in powder ( dont think you can use biological though )

Simple talcum powder liberally sprinkled on to the stain, leave overnight, brush off. That will lift the grease, then you can deal with any stain by thorough washing.

Put brown paper over the item and iron - the brown paper absorbs the grease

I have always had good results by pre-treating with old fashioned Fairy household bar soap then thorough washing.

Spray on let dry and it lifts the oil out.

I just got oil dripped on my brand new green Helly Hansen jacket. Reading the K2r blurb, https://www.lakeland.co.uk/24040/k2r-dry-clean-stain-remover-spray-100ml#product-details-accordion, it says not to use it on "rubberised and impregnated material, rainwear, plastic". I'm worried about losing the water repellency of the jacket (the stain is on the top of the shoulder). Downhill Sailor, did you manage to retain the water repellency of your jacket?
Likewise, looking on the Desolvit site, https://www.desolvit.co.uk/product/de-solv-multi-task-wipes/, they say "may not be suitable for some plastics, delicate surfaces or fabrics". vmh, did your jacket keep its repellency and colour? If the wipes can dissolve PU foam and wet paint, they seem pretty aggressive.
Part of me is wondering whether to just lump the fact that my shiny new jacket has oil stains on the shoulder in order to keep the repellency (except, perhaps, where the oil dots are). The hotel says that it is possible to get the stains out, and keep the fabric properties, but the jacket needs to be left for 24 hours with specialist cleaner in resort. Not possible.

@Steve.S, I had a similar event, but with grease. First of all I washed the infected part with detergent to get most of it off over the small area of shoulder, then into the washing machine with Nikwax tech wash and finally a reproof with Nikwax. It worked and the jacket is still water repellant.

Had exact same thing, swarfega is very impressive but you do still need to work at it, rub a bit of swarfega with warm water then take a paper towel and soak up the oil, they repeat this process several times, there's no quick solution you just need to repeat and soak up the oil over and over.

Here in Val if it happens to someone you can take the jacket to the lift company and ask them to clean it for you (im not joking as ive done it before)!!!! Maybe thats just for instructors but they didnt blink when I asked as happens often enough that they do it!

Nice, thank you. Somehow Swarfega seems gentler, even though it can clean sump oil and paint off hands.
I did wonder whether it is safe to use a detergent on the stain as, from memory, the NikWax tech wash instructions say to clean the drum and to make sure there are no soap powder residues in the soap dispenser. I presumed from this that detergent or plain soap could mess up the repellency.

Um, given the original post was 13 years ago I suspect that @Steve.S either fixed the problem and the jacket was worn until the end of its effective life, or it went in the bin and was replaced by something in 2012's hot colour...
