Who else gets their gears ground by 18 kid ESF snakes weaving from one side of the piste to the other during the holiday period?

davidof, ABSOLUTELY....see thread I've got going on 'best ski school for kids':
http://snowheads.com/ski-forum/viewtopic.php?t=93561
these snakes are exactly the wrong thing for young learners IMHO - are the ones at the back learning anything other than panicking and cutting the turns? I note that the last three are usually in tears. The small numbers in the new generation of schools (such as the Swiss Mountain Sports school I mention in my thread and others which people have cited) seem to be the best development - small groups of well-disciplined kids, often very young, all being attended to in the tuition. People like Yves Caillet at SMS have pushed hard for this new model, and I think we all need to push it out more widely.

Occasionally you get snakes of children in lessons at Hemel too. That's always fun.

You know it makes sense.

Nothing to do with France, you get them in Austria too. Best deployed on a narrow, banked cat track with a fat Frau at the back warning you not too overtake the little darlings.

Scares the doggie doo-doos out of me. I have to stop and wait for them to all fall over then make my escape past them on the blind side

Hate it when you get out of a lift and see them all standing at the top, and there's a quick rush to beat the ski school down rather than get stuck behind them..

The things some people complain about!! Plenty of people would love to spend so much time in the mountains that such minor irritations became note-worthy.

I hate ski school snakes. They are a pain to get around and I don't think they are a particularly good way to actually learn to ski.
