Poster: A snowHead
|
Hi folks
Looking for a good instructor for private lessons in Zermatt in January, preferably native English speaking.
A quick google brings up http://www.summitskischool.com/pages/team.html Looking at the qualifications any from the top row would look to be a logical choice.
Any thoughts
Thanks

Elmer, I've used Summit a couple of times, including for private lessons. You may have to have a discussion with them to get the instructor you want. They employ everything from BASIL2s to ISTDs.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

I did a teaching assessment week with Danni Glover and thought she was pretty good. Nice, relaxed teaching style and a good technical understanding.

Hi
We go to Zermatt regularly and have used a few of the available options, thought actually Summit is one we haven't used. Not sure if this is for adults or children, one or more people, but we have used and been pleased with AER. Small school, private lessons only, fully certificated instructors (i.e. they have all had to do the full accreditation). The information is all on the website. We also have a contact with an independent private instructor who has taught all our children to ski to a really good standard. She is particularly good with kids, but that may not be what you are looking for.

Any and all specific recommendations for off-piste private (or v. small groups) also welcome

Here is the link to all the ski schools in Zermatt

For specifically off piste (and assuming you mean fairly serious off piste, as opposed to what I do, i.e. dodging on and off at the sides!) you might want to look at AER as mentioned above or the alpincentre guides, who specialise in off piste guiding, heli touring and the like.
