Poster: A snowHead

Hello
More of a lurker than a poster... but here goes! I am getting married next month and my partner and I love to ski, so having a vaguely vintage ski themed wedding.
One of our favourite bits of a ski holiday is heading to a cosy bar after an awesome day on the slopes and the nice bar people who wander round with random shots of local liqueur.
We'd like to recreate this at our wedding, but not sure which shot to go for! Venue has suggested sambuca which doesn't make me think of snowy mountains and not a fan of Genepi. Just wondered if anyone had any good ideas? We had a lovely shot called Panche or similar in Andorra but can't seem to find it in the UK.
Thanks! Have also posted this in the Apres Zone, seemed appropriate...

What about getting a load of those wooden multi spouted vessels - Grole? They are usually filled with some sort of liquor coffee but you could put anything in them such as mulled wine.

Jaegermeister or Branca Mentha. Make sure you take many pictures at the wedding as you may not have that many memories after a few shots... especially if you make Jaeger bombs. Gosh, I am getting hangover-like effects just typing this

I shared an evening a few years ago with a dutch friend of mine who had a Jagermeister liquer, think it was ~25% rather than the usual ~35% and obtained from the continent. I had never, nor have seen or heard anything of it since, but was lovely drunk neat.

We actually did this for our wedding. I got someone who was going to Austria that year to bring a load of Ladykillers back. They were little bottles with various risque pictures or cartoons underneath a peal-away label. Great fun!

Would post a pic but not sure how, I have my own bar and a great après ski shot is a liquor called Frangelico.
Its in a cool brown bottle representing a monk, (it actually has a little bit of rope around the bottle) And tastes of hazelnut
It is an absolutely gorgeous shot and is only about 20%.
Or you could go for one of the well known Pousse cafe shots, the B-52, Kaluha, Baileys and Grand manier, layered in that order.
My list would be endless, if you gave me the kind of flavour profile your looking for, I've probably got the drink for you.

A double shot of Baileys top up with a double Jamesons add crushed ice and shake it - gives you a nice tranquil glow inside.

Jaegermeister would be ace, but yes it would result in a messy wedding, Id go with Sambuca, most people like it and it tastes great (also easy to get hold of)!

Hey Peezafreeza,
If you're looking for good apres ski venues for your wedding check out my site www.snowangel.co.uk it's the ultimate mountain restaurant and apres ski bar guide, I'm sure you'll find something greta on there. We don't feature anywhere we've not been to so it's all personal recommendation - if it's rubbish it isn't on there. Good luck with your wedding and happy searching! SnowAngel

Raceplate, Oh big +1 for toffee vodka.....come to that just about any infused vodka. i make my own regularly and when chums come to visit they love a few shots of toffee, strawberry or blueberry vodka. Think the OP's should do a bunch of flavours for themselves....much cheaper too than buying commercially.
