Any rumours of any (French, especially) hills opening a cheeky draglift or two this weekend? Thursday is a jour ferie, so lots of folks have a 4-day weekend. The snow cover is more like January than October. Someone somewhere is thinking about getting a run open somewhere surely!

Tignes glacier is open and there are rumours around that they might open some of the other runs too depending on the snow.
La Plagne/Les Arcs/La Ros/Ste Foy all definitely not opening. . . .

Les 7 Laux, Halloween 2012 Trip Report.
Two lifts open, the best snow was on the upper slopes, but the most satisfying way down involved ducking under a fence and skiing back down to the access gondola.
It also turns out, to my surprise, that 3 year old boys take to snowboarding rather more quickly than skiing. Their mothers, not quite so much.
It furthermore transpires that I am incredibly rusty, unfit and out of practice.
In summary: mostly chavs from Grenoble.

Might post some later. I was skiing with the small chap between my legs (no sniggering at the back) and we got filmed by quite a professional looking camera(wo)man.
So if you see a gentlemen in a tan jacket gently coaxing a little thing with a red helmet on the local Frenchie news tonight, that's probably me.
