Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

independant coach rental to the alps

Poster: A snowHead
hi snowheads, can anyone help, i have been tasked by several families to look into a cheap skiing holiday next season, 2014. i know it is early, but am on the case now, before people lose interest!!!!
i am thinking that it would be cheaper to charter a coach for all of us, rather than flying, for about 30-35 passengers, thats if i can find accomadation to suit, am also thinking it would be better to keep to a cheap french resort, majority would be children and beginners.
has anyone any experience of coach rental, and if so a ballpark figure for this.
hope to hear some productive tips!!!
cheers
terry

terrygasson, can't help with coach (I suspect it would cost more than an early booking with easyJet for a low season week) but here's a suggestion for cheap accommodation - I am renting all 6 apartments in this building for a big family party at Easter. It's the big building just to the left of the chairlift. Ski in/out (blue piste, complete beginners couldn't manage that, but there's a small nursery slope with a free rope tow, plenty of parking, shops, restaurant, ski shop nearby. They are decent apartments, clean, warm, not too cramped, big communal play area with table tennis table

The place can sleep 41 people I think, though it would be better with fewer, obviously.

terrygasson, a lot will depend on where you are based and when you want to travel. If you're looking at school holidays (you mention children in the group) then expect to pay a premium as there is usually a shortage of drivers which will only get worse once the new EU CPC regs start to hit from this summer.

Other factors that will affect the cost:-
Distance from home to resort - fuel isn't cheap and road tolls soon add up!
Can you get from Dover to resort in 11 hours? If not, then you'll need to either stop overnight or pay for 2 drivers.
Can you provide the drivers with accommodation or will they have to find their own?
Will you need the coach in resort or will it be parked up all week?
What type of coach you want and what facilities you expect it to have.
