Help!!
Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

An unsolicited brochure from Oggie arrived today. I suppose I am on a mailing list.
Their offerings are different from
Snow and Rock
and
Ellis Brigham
. There is no high end gear or really expensive kit.
Some of their stuff looked good value :-
Thermals @£12.95 about a third what the other two charge
Helmets @£19.95
Skipoles @£13.95 - Poles always seem like a rip-off to me.
So has anyone used Oggie ? (their shops are out in the wilds - Sheffield, Brum, Soton)
Has anyone used them for mail order ?

No - but I got the same brochure yesterday too. I also wondered which mailing list I am on!
Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Ditto, I noticed they had an advert in their brochure for the SCGB and wondered if that's where they got my details from.
They look to be good value for much of their stuff, I may have to pop over to Southampton and have a look in their shops

Latchigo
, thanks for the tip-off.
Just had a look at their site and saw the unisex base layer sets at 19.99. I've been after a cheap set for ages so thought I'd go ahead and buy. Then, when I added the item to my basket, the price dropped to 12.99, so i bought two sets for 30.80 incl delivery. Bargain!
