The catch is that there are only 4 centres/shops for all of Austria, eg skiing St Anton you need to collect in Pettneu. I did a search for 6 days in mid jan and was quoted about 20 Euros for skis and mandatory 15 Euros insurance. There is a choice of several makes of carving skis: Volkl Salomon K2. No off piste/freeride skis. Bit of a hassle if something does not work out with the skis or want to change skis or like to get a tune mid week, but it's a big saving especially for a larger group.

snowman, Pettneu is a 5-10 min free bus ride from St Anton... If all you need is a pair of standard piste skis, that sounds like a great deal.

clarky999, no i can see that now I have read it again. I just know form your other posts you are not a "friendly blue" and like the tricky stuff.
I wish I could find somewhere in Les Menuires doing a deal, at the moment its 142 Euro for the week I want.Plus Wife plus Kids etc.

I've booked with them fairly recently, it's straightforward and they had sufficient ski's/choice for everyone I was looking for. I'm doing a season in St. Anton and booked kit for my family so will happily hop on the ski bus with them. Got them volkl RTM 7.3s for 19euro each if I remember correctly.
