Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Poster: A snowHead
A friend of mine is after a snowsure/high resort for Easter 2013 as it is her hubbys 50'th on 29th March. They are good skiers have 2 teenagers who will ski anything.
Any suggestions?

Linds, that is not late so unless it is a really poor season all round, they are only limited by their budget and imaginations! wink That is travelling out on Easter Saturday as Easter is very early in 2013.

Linds, do they have any country preference, cheap, expensive, good nightlife quiet, busy, mad apres??? etc etc

We have booked St Anton as we are going mid April as looking as historic data it looked a good bet compared to other options for that week.

As a rule of them for that late in the season go for a higher resort in whatever country you choose, preferably with slopes which don't all face south. Loads of choices, so other factors such as type of accommodation, travel preferences, apres ski style, etc. I've skied in Les Arcs at the beginning of April several times and always enjoyed it.

rob@rar, I like La Tania to break the rule of thumb Smile 1300m but north facing home run in the trees and quick access to higher snow via gondola Smile Always been able to ski home though!

kitenski, yes, that blue through the trees seems well shaded and well protected by snow cannons, so holds its snow well. But if that run was south facing I'd guess it would be a different matter? It's the altitude of the skiing that's more important than the village height, so even if you have to download because the home run is shot you can still have a great time if most of the skiing is high.

L2A has treated me very well for the last 6 Easters and we're off there again next year. even in 2011 skiing was fine down to about 2600m which still leaves 1000m to play on.

Went to Solden in April (9th) last year. Plenty of snow above 1500m which is a short gondola ride away. Two glaciers, three peaks about 3000m's. Free bus to Obergurgl if you fancy a change of scenery. The added bonus of a spring dump helped conditions. Wouldnt hesiste to go again.

My thoughts for them was Val T, La Tania, La Plagne/Les Arc, St Anton but take on board about skiing height rather than village height and will pass this on to them and slope direction.
Travel they are up in Manchester area so flights are the best option, dont think she has any particular country in mind, but not long haul as she hates flying rolling eyes
