boabski, honestly don't think it makes much of a difference. Other measures might do, but as it stands seems fine to me.

Not my style I have to admit but personally I've never had an issue with it, people are without exception having fun, I've never seen any trouble between holiday makers in St Anton, the people are in high spirits, always with friends and having probably the best week of their ski season/ year, why not have a laugh with mates after a top day in the mountains? Always makes me smile when I'm woken at 4am by drunks (normally Scandanavians) dragging thier skis around the streets, singing and laughing, lifes for living IMO. If they want to spend a grand on laying in bed until lunchtime with a hangover more fool them and that's one less person on the slopes, happy days.
Saw a Swedish guy last year outside the Hotel Post staggering about dragging his snowboard singing loudly and pee-ing in the pedestrian zone outside the Hotel Post, at 8.30pm still in his boarding gear - was just about to say something to him when he fell flat on his face in the snow.............thats not good! Maybe got a decent nights sleep out there at -20C, thats just stupid, and people like him deserve to be sorted not people in high spirits, theres a difference, a fine line but still a difference.
Last January was there by chance for the Interski week, and the atmosphere was a tad aggressive in the bars, loads of large groups of lads; Swedes, Canadians, Finns etc all getting full of drink and lairy and we decided to leave Bobos before it kicked off - thats different, all on expenses and not true holiday-makers having fun.

To be fair we normally leave the Griabli when the Snowtones finsh, and get changed anyway before heading out again - thankfully we all stay dead central when there, so never hanging around in our ski gear too late.
We only went to the Moos for one this year and same again the last 2 years. The crowd is too expectant there and far too many tw@ts dressed up in stupid fecking costumes for my liking. St Anton is almost becoming a victim of it's own success/hype.
Still the best resort in the planet though

boabski, Totally agree, Mooswirt aint what it was, havent been near it for 2-3 years now, too many posers as you say. Had a great late afternoon end March on my OH's birthday at Griabli, band playing on terrace in the sun, owner playing his air guitar with a wig on, running from table to table, what a laugh. Best bar in the best ski resort bar none! We're going in August for MTB-ing and big routes reccy week, Xmas and Feb 13, the more you get to know it, the more you get to like it IME, the local people and the place is just fantastic, the off-piste just brilliant.

Its only No Ski Boots after 20:00hrs. In anycase bars have been closing down & next season there are even less in St Anton.
The late night Clubs have security so Apres Ski Drunks are not let in.

Damn! I like the idea of big après and people partying until morning. Means fewer people on the slopes early in the morning. I also like the idea of big lunches, especially in Lech and Zurs... means the lift lines disappear after 12!

That's quite a big project for that space. Just trying to imagine where the base station would sit as it's a relatively narrow piste there.
Funnily enough Siemens sold the removal of that T bar as one of the benefits of the new Galzigbahn.
"The Feldherrenhügel T-bar lift will be dismantled without replacement when the new Galzigbahn ropeway is built and, as a result, there will be more skiing space available" [2006]

nozawaonsen, My understanding from talking to a well connected local last summer is that where the track splits they will make it only one way down at that point and construct the new Feldherrenhuegelbahn lift on the other half (used to really like that T Bar, great access). If you remember when the old T Bar was there the top used to get blocked up sometimes and all used to use the bottom track at busy periods.
The plan, I understand is to build the new 8 man bubble and close the Zammermoosbahn which is getting old and is sat on a geological fault line and is slowly moving down the hill, albeit only cm's, enough to need action. Personally I hope they go with a bubble/ chair combo (like the new one in Lech), I'd rather not take my skis off at that point, but hey its all good stuff.
I'm less happy about the Kappl lift, dont want Rendl off-piste spoiling from large volumes of traffic coming over the hill, and a new Schindlerbahn wont be a bad thing, love it up there also, but dont want it anymore crowded so a 4 person heated and covered chair is enough IMO.

stanton, Any idea what the Malfon 1 & 2 are? Is that the Trittkopf link?
What about Rossfal, dont like the sound of that, is that a new lift?.................one of the best kept secrets in St Anton!!

ProjektDias (Rendl-Kappl)
Malfon 1 & 2 are the Gondola link to Kappl. Rossfal will be the new lift to get you up to Malfon 1 . Riffl 1 will be taken out AFAIK.
Feldherrenhügelbahn. They will just bulldoze into the hill to create a new basestation. Zammermoos will be taken out.
Only problem I see is they will have to cut down huge amounts of trees to facilitate an 8 man chair. I dont think the UVP will agree to that as they already cut down hundreds for the new Galzigbahn & Rendlbahn.
Also the colouir that has been there sii#nce the T bar removal is one of the best bump runs in the resort & quickest ways down from Galzig. If a new lift goes in this line the run will be 4 times a wide (min) .

stanton, FFS looks like the lorry has come over across the white lines and hit the van, spun him around and carried on and slid into the wall on the other carriageway. I wish they wouldn't allow mega trucks like that in 2 way tunnels. Totally different type of accident to the bad coach crash last winter, always seems perhaps unsurprisingly though to be large vehicles involved, although strangely being from Hohenems this truck is pretty local and the driver would likely know that section of road well..............jeez.

Pretty much is, there's a few parts where it deviates slightly. There is/was a youtube vid kicking around of somebody who'd done the run last summer as it was open then (or at least part of it was) and I saw a few people heading down it.

Sitter, if it's as much fun as the toboggan run, should be great fun on a bike.
Markymark29, never done the one in St Anton. If you ever are in Lech/Oberlech of an evening you have to do the run there, ie this Burgwald one. Takes you right out at the cable car and you do it again and again - with refreshments of course. Oh happy daze

boabski, Down to 1800m, sitting on our balcony in St Jakob looking at Rendlalpe and its down to about 1800m.....off cycling up Gampen tomorrow morning in snow I reckon, reccy for the MTB Bike Marathon I'm doing here next August 41km - locals say 1 metre expected tonight at the top. Just been walking up the waterfall at Schnann in the heavy rain 6C here in town and its snowing at the top.
