Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

With snow beginning to fall, snowHead , it's time to start looking at webcams again. Some of my favourite sites are:

Snoweye - good collection of cameras from all over the place.

Viewsurf - a collection of moving images.

Meribel panorama - a good panoramic view from Tougnette looking at the Meribel valley, from merinet.com.

La Plagne panorama - a good view with clickable telephoto shots.

It's still at version 0.1 and I have ideas for a few improvements so be patient. Smile

Last winter I wrote a quick script at work that saved a snapshot from the webcam of 3 resorts at the start of the season. This year I revamped the script to have a (slightly) nicer interface. It's interesting to see around what dates the snow started to fall. The cervinia webcam is the best. Check end of October 2004 http://snow.diarmuidc.net/webcams/Cervinia/Cervinia_2004_Oct.html. Favorite webcam of the now is Tignes, real snow (not much) in resort .. watch it whilst it lasts!

I'm not sure if these guys have any 'cams that aren't on other sites and it only covers France but it's quite a well laid-out site.
