Does anyone know whether there are any cheap flights from LHR to Geneva in April 2013? Also, why can't I book Easyjet beyond 24th March. How do Easy release their flights. Sorry, never booked flights independent of package before. Why is it so difficult?

Great. Thanks - I'll take a look. Trying to get them cheap i.e. under £120 return each, so think it'll need to be Easyjet rather than BA . Incidentally, it looks like Flybe don't fly from Southampton to Chambery beyond 30th March atm. Am I wrong? - will they release a new schedule sometime. I really dislike Chambery airport, but is Geneva worth the extra few driving kms?

No, you're probably not wrong. Yes, I think Geneva is worth the extra driving - it's far more reliable. Chambery is quite often badly disrupted by weather which gives Geneva no problems. Snow can cause havoc at Geneva but they don't get snow that often down there. Chambery is also very busy at weekends - it can be super on a Tuesday, though. You can park for free and be driving away less than ten minutes from touchdown.
If you are looking to fly at a busy time (ie Saturdays in holiday time) you will have to be fast to get easyJet flights for less than £120 including baggage.
Make sure you factor transfers into your holiday costs - if you get cheap flights you can end up paying more for your transfer than for your flights, sometimes. If there are 4 of you, renting a car is usually the cheapest way to go.

Palumbex, wasting my own time on endless internet searches for "the perfect" apartment, and non-existent cheap flights on THE peak date of the year (well, except half term). Good tip, snowhound, about Swissair - unfortunately, the prices are way higher one week earlier. Am considering BA at £176... prob the best I'll get at this stage...

no it isn't, not peak at all. New Year is far busier. French skiers have given up skiing by Easter! The apartments I'm booking are at low season rates.
You'll probably get better prices if you wait for easyJet then pounce the moment they are released. The BA ones have been on sale for ages, so prices will have crept up steadily.

Sort of on topic but sort of not - Lufthansa currently have £99 return to Munich leaving at 8pm on the Thursday before easter and coming back in the evening on Monday. Useful for a no-leave quick ski break to Austria?
I've booked the flights bit anyway. Not sorted out the skiing yet.

You know it makes sense.

As well as skyscanner try http://flightchecker.moneysavingexpert.com/ it does pretty much the same job, but you can also see what combination of dates is the cheapest - useful if you can be more flexible on your holiday start/finish dates. Sometimes it works out more economical to stay for a holiday other than 7 days and pay for an additional nights in a hotel (if you can).
