Anyone ever skied there? My brother has bought an apt there (lives in Brisbane) is it worth the trip?
Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person

tangowaggon, We skied there during a roadtrip in BC, enjoyed the place but only skied one day as we were passing through. We wished we had stayed another day. Its a great quirky resort made more so by the style of the houses there.
If you have free accomodation I would deffinately make the trip out there, theres plenty of other places within easy driving too From Vernon/ Silver Star. Revelstoke is a couple of hours drive and Big White a couple the other way. If you are out there for a couple of weeks theres plentyof places you could ski and have fun.
Couple of pics
Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Most definitely worth a trip, especially if you like powder and trees
Nice place - family cruising wth some steeper fall line and trees on the backside. As above though I'd combine with some other places - Revy the best IMO but Big White or Sun Peaks within reach if you're more cruisy.
Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

My favourite resort! But don't go expecting 3 vallees style hundreds of km of piste. For a glimpse of what it's like:

(this is mostly of our then 6 year old getting a bit stuck in the powder and trees!). Following year's version has a few more glimpses of the resort itself:

and this one is a friend of ours who is lucky enough to live just down the hill from Silver Star:
REally like Silver Star. Good snow, good skiing, good glades. Nice ice skating pond. Best tubing in rockies.
Then you can post your own questions or snow reports...

Like Silver Star . Good snow and skiing the skating pond and tubing close together and from Nov this year there will even be a bowling alley in the building next to the pond.
Its a small resort but worth the trek especially if he will let you stay at family rates
We will be going in Feb, and not via Manchester airport as I have not found any flights yet.
After all it is free

Possible El Nino brewing, which doesn't bode well for BC next winter, SS needs a decent amount of snow to cover its steeps, so can be limited in low snow years. Otherwise I agree, great place
