Help!!
Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

SkiPressWorld has put its annual ski equipment test results online.
289 different skis, 36 ski boots and 32 junior skis feature in the review, originally published in the new Gear Issue. Nearly 200 testers reviewed the gear in three separate tests across North America, with the results printed in English, French and German in one million magazines distributed in the US, Canada, Austria and Germany.
According to the publishers, all those results can be viewed online at
www.skipressworld.com
. I've only briefly scanned what's available, which is in pdf format.
Any comments on the test welcome.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Actually quite interesting. I'm of to Whistler in Jan and looking to do a bit more off piste.
Not being a too aggresive skier I'm considering some Atomic M9's which get good review in this report.
My only problem is that the selector on the Atomic site suggests I need a length of 164cm which seem short for someone 6' 1" and 95 kg.

I made a mistake launching this thread. Compex had already done it:

Apologies.
Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

, I'm about your size and I
hated
the M9 in 164cm. 171cm was very nice for almost anything but icy bumps. I had a demo binding set that couldn't be adjusted fore/aft on the hill- I suspect I would have liked them more if I had been a little more forward to pressure the tip.
(Yes, I'm trying to learn to ski bumps way forward now).

, very good of you to put up the direct-download link nonetheless; the other relies heavily on a high-bandwidth connection.
