Some unfortunate people travelling today might arrive without their equipment and luggage!

The power cut in the North terminal affected the baggage handling system, but flights took off on time.
Extra staff have been called in to move bags manually and engineers are working to get baggage belts working again.

The exact same thing happened to us when we travelled to Innsbruck on Feb the 4th from Gatwick South. It wasn't until they closed the baggage reclaim without us getting three of our four cases that we realised - thankfully they were put on a later flight and we got them about 12 hours later.

Simon Clader on BBC news just said that BA will also cover you for any expenses incurred i.e. equipment hire etc but Easyjet would only provide a maximum £25 per day compensation.

Yes I know someone who arrived at Turin yesterday - only going to find that their luggage hadn't. As he's only going for 4 days then time lost due to no luggage/taken to acquire replacements easts into that in a big way.
