Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Just a simple one, when skiing what are best, mitts or gloves?

Unless you suffer from cold hands, gloves, as mitts are too warm.

But if you are off-piste and carrying and roping - anything that gets the gloves wet, maybe a pair of mitts in the bag is a good idea

According to many, mitts are warmer. I prefer gloves.

In general gloves but if you suffer from cold hands or are buying for kids, mittens may be better

Ok, so mitts are regarded as being slightly warmer but what about the way the two gloves perfrom.

Renry, I'd have to say there's not great difference. Although mitts do make pointing to things on the piste map a bit harder wink

Mitts recommended if you are ever skiing on Dendix slopes. You'll still get 'dendix thumb' but the rest of your digits should survive the experience.

It's just down to personal preference. I prefer gloves as more practical but on a v cold day I take the fingers out the holes and scrunch my hands in a ball when on lifts, so mitts would be best there!

terrible circulation, so gloves to start the day and mitts in the pack if weather closes in/spares - nothing like them for when the hands start to go numb....especially with a hand warmer chucked into each paw Very Happy

I'm just changing to mitts, but with glove liners. I'll keep my old gloves just in case, shame because they are a great pair of Sally's, but starting to get holes in.
