Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Niseko Village Accommodation - any recommendations late Feb to early March?

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hi all
A friend and I are looking to fly to Japan - late Feb/early March - we're having trouble finding accommodation but not sure we're looking in the right place - prefer Hirafu village. We'd prefer a twin room with ensuite (2 x females!) or small apartment.
Does anyone have any recommendations?
And does anyone whose in the know think early March is too late to get the light n fluffy powder in Niseko??
Thanks!!

I stayed at the Pension Moorea with 2 friends last Jan (2011), the room was a bit cosy for 3 males and we didnt have ensuite although the pics on the attached link suggest en suite is available.

Thanks Andy - we've found accommodation in a place called M lodge which looks good enough. Now to prepare for a week of (hopefully) thigh burning powder!

Hi Mike
Am just about to fly out for Niseko and have a quick question for you. My friend is not as good a skier as I and I imagine I'll want to head out to some more challenging areas than she might be up for at some point - a bit uncertain as to whether I should do this on my own in a new resort so was wondering if there any guides who take groups of unrelated individuals? Most of the guiding companies I've checked out need at least a minimum of 2 - and are obviously priced accordingly. Anything you can recommend would be great.
Cheers
Kirstin

If you haven't already you could ask to join an existing group with a company like Shinsetsu Mountain Guides or The Powder Guides.

There's plenty of inbounds off-groomed terrain that's obvious and adjacent to easier groomed slopes so you can ski with your friend.

There's also the Mizuno-sawa area of Niseko Village where you sit through an avalanche talk and then ski it with a patroller.
