As far as the Alps go, November skiing will be most likely mean a glacier (though some resorts usually open by the end of that month), but you will be a long way from a beach.

Carlifonia, I think only resort that has open in November is Mammoth, and its 7h driving to Santa Barbara, there its warmer in the water than in San Francisco area,
Spain, Only choice whould be Sierra Nevada, this season they was open 26th November, but some seasons they can be happy to open for xmas, 1h30min driving to the mediterian sea.
Switzerland, Zermatt should give you the best skiing this time on season, 5h driving to the mediterian sea.
Canaries? Whitegold, how have you think here?

I'm planning whistler/ Hawaii through ski safari for our honeymoon next jan but not a clue how something like that would fare for Nov time as my knowledge of Canada snow is zero. Ski safari seem to have lots of locations though
