Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Further to my initial post regarding skiing for the completely uninitiated and congenitally tight, yesterday was the first step on a long journey. Young Bannana and I are housesitting for my mum in Suffolk and yesterday he went to the dry slope for a kids workshop.

After an agonising wait (when I was convinced he would talk himself out of it) he finally donned his "new" trousers (£3.00 on e-Bay!) and was issued with a rather natty pair of red boots and off he went. All in all progress was VERY slow, apparently hampered by the fact that there was snow on the dry slope (the Young Bannana is now completely confused by the concept of dry slope skiing!) Anyway after 3 small runs down, all of which involved a collapse at the end he tells me that it is "awesome" and wants to book a lesson for when we get back to Dorset. I did feel that 3 runs was enough for him on his first outing, borne out by the fact that he slept for 13 hours last night Very Happy

So that hurdle is out of the way, the next spanner in the works is that a family holiday to France to see the LeMans 24hr race in June next year looks to be on the cards, rather putting paid to my January 2013 virgins ski trip. In the meantime the boring Bannana has concluded that he will have a go on the dry slope but with no promises made (and no cameras involved was another stipulation Madeye-Smiley ) So who knows, I will continue chipping away gently until we get a date booked, in the meantime its off to the dry slope again!

Wait till young bannana is 17 & you are skiing at what you think is a fast speed & he hurtles past you, goes up the bank & does a 360 back down in front of you Shocked

snowHead sounds like a result! I don't blame the other banana wanting to make sure his first steps aren't recorded for posterity.

provenjohn, think you've probably added 10 to the age when most kids will be out skiing their parents!
