Help!!
Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Hi any recommendations for ski hire in Scheffau. We are in the Waldhof next to the gondola.
Cheers

Hi
We are also staying in the Waldhof next to the gondola. We were planning on using the shop that appears to be attached to the hotel. The Waldhof have told me we can arrange it all when we arrive.
Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Waldhof has it's own sports shop with ski hire. Presumably guests get some discount?
It's all on their web site!

Yes, guests get a 10% discount.
Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Thanks will probably go with the Waldhof, it's only a four night stay so with a bit of luck may squeeze an afternoon in when we arrive.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread but I got back from Scheffau a week ago and used
http://www.sport-gatt.at/
I emailed them directly for a price and got a discount due to staying at the Pension Aloisia (around the corner from Sport Gatt). Martina provided a choice of skis and explained the differences and what was best suited for the current snow conditions. We both had Elan skis which were excellent. Going direct we felt we got a better deal compared with booking in advance with ski set or sport 2000. In ten years of renting it was the best experience I have had and from now on I will look up the smaller independent shops and contact them directly.
