Poster: A snowHead

I want to be covered for skinning (not multi day tours) as well as lift served off piste. Does this fall under the general off piste 'sport' category or is it classed as ski touring, which is in the 'extreme' category? Couldn't find anything in a quick search of the site. Ta.

Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person

Sharkymark, sorry, not a direct reply, but if you have problems, you could look at snowcard - their "max adventure" includes lift served freeride and touring.
They have a useful "pick and mix" for the cover you want.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

You shouldn't rely on any answer you get on here. Just give DT a ring - they are IME very approachable. If you have any issues getting an straight answer, just ask to speak to Mike the boss.

Sharkymark, pose the question directly and get an answer in writing... enquiries@dogtag.co.uk
IMHO if simply using touring gear and skining up the side of the pistes and then just using the off-piste like anyone else, then it's Sport cover you need.
I reckon Extreme is more for people leaving the areas accessible by the mechanical uplift.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

It beats me why people skin up the side of the piste. Well, I was doing it a week or so ago, but that was just a practice.
