Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Part fallen off my boot...

Plastic section between the boot outter and the warm inner at the back at calf (boot higest point) height.

Found one that had popped off but lost the other. The one that I found just popped back in but now i'm missing the other one.

What's it do? Will i miss it? And can i get a spare?

Salomon mens boots.

Thanks for any help! Smile

Any chance you could take a photo of the part (from the boot that still has it?) I'm not entirely sure which "bit" you are describing

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Having google searched i believe it is indeed a spoiler - thank you.
So any idea where i can get a replacement from?
Would/ does this part encourage you to lean forward (a problem i definietely have!)?

My previous boots had a piece like you are describing. A wedge shaped piece that fits inside outer shell at rear of calf? Mine was held on by velcro and was just for adjusting the space at that part of the boot. It seemed to be optional extra, which you could remove if preferred.

Yes, it is called a "spoiler" according to google. And just needed if you want to reduce space at rear.

It's called a spoiler because it spoils the fit of your boots and the ski experience wink

...unless you've skinny calfs of course.

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

When I got my boots fitted the fitter said the spoilers are useful for people with longer, skinny legs as they increase the support the boot can give. However if, like me, you've got short tree trunks with massive calves then they just make then uncomfortable so he took them out for me. I wouldn't have thought it was a good idea to ski with one in one boot and not the other though...
