Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

French Avalanche Bulletin no longer in English as an RRS feed on sites like pistehors

Poster: A snowHead
Sure Daviddoff will comment on this - but I note that from the Avalanche Bulletin on PisteHors http://pistehors.com/backcountry/wiki/Avalanches/Avalanche-Bulletin if you then click on a region all the forecasts are out of date, also the same on another site I was looking at.

Not too sure if the reason why is that Meteo France have stopped producing a text only version of the avalanche resource that Pistehors and other sites were using, or they have simply moved the link, I see that there is a weekly bulletin summary text version......

On my weather site I use the Met Office Shipping Forecast and Inshore forecasts with a neat bit of tech and every now and again they change the feeds which is a pain.

The detailed bulletin is produced as an image so you can't run through Google translate !!!

Just quickly as I'm off to see santa, they've done it specifically to stop us translating the bulletin. I will update the PisteHors links when I have a moment.

Incidentally what they've done is illegal under French information accessibility law

I was at a conference with Meteo France at the start of December where we discussed the new bulletin format. Here is a writeup of the notes I made at the time

You can follow the bulletin on my twitter account: https://twitter.com/davidzof, these are direct links to the graphics which I will post daily around 6pm. Otherwise here are the Meteo France pages for the Savoie and Haute - Savoie
