Gut feeling, it's frost, normally I'd expect to see the wooden railing clear of snow with that small an amount, with frost the moisture in the wood would add to the effect making it much whiter which is what appears to have occured

Was up CairnGorm on Friday middle of the day, wintry showers were coming in higher up, very slight dusting of snow on the top few hundred feet and visible around the rim of the Cas Headwall following showers.
