Poster: A snowHead

A thread to summarise all the latest developments and improvements that are being made to resorts this summer.
For example, the completion of the Laisnant Express in Val d'Isere, which should open up some nice new runs.

I've been wondering about this for sometime and was concerned if it was too anorkay. Glad someone else started it. To my knowledge these are some of the new lifts:-
Les Menuires - Roc des 3 Marches gondola replacing Monte de la Chambre stage 1 and Combes chair
Courchevel 1650 - Signal drag being replaced by 6 man chair - not sure whether it arrives at top of existing drag or near Aronidaz gondola
Courchevel 1300/1550 - Bulgarian bubbles being replaced by nice new units
Westendorf / Kitzbhuel - New linking gondola
Tignes - is the Tichot chair being replaced this year?

brian, CLD = Chairlift Detachable, CLF = Chairlift Fixed, MGD = Monocable Gondola Detachable - I think. PB is a cable car and CLD/B is one with a cover. Any others?

Notre Dame de Bellecombe/Flumet/Praz sur Arly is being lift linked to Les Saisies and Crest Voland this summer as the next step in the creation of the "Espace Diamant" which might, possibly, one day, link to Megeve. Not far from Praz to Megeve as the snow flies, but lots of politics in the way. My enquiry to the lift pass office in Les Saisies as to whether the link really would, as advertised, be ready for the beginning of the 2005/6 season was answered today. The lift company representative said "it will definitely may be be ready". His underlining.

Alastair, thanks. I take it SL is a surface lift.
PB and SSB both seem to be cable cars, SSB are generally bigger capacity ?

Thanks for the info and the link to www.lift-world.info. I'm not sure that anything can be called "anoracky" when compared to that...a prime candidate for Have I Got News For You (with apologies to all "ropeway engineers" on snowHeads!!)
