Poster: A snowHead

Hi,
I have bought "Salomon mission 4" boots size 27, and pair of skies adjusted to this size, and now I want to change the boots to one size bigger (27.5), do I have to adjust the binding to make them fit for the new 27.5 boots?

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Normally the half sizes use the same shell as the full size. So 27 & 27.5 In the same MODEL should be the same. The size though is irrelevant for binding fitting, it's the BSL (base sole length ) which is important and should be moulded into the boot somewhere (usually the side ).

You need to Login to know who's really who.

It depends on the sole lengths of the boot rather than the size. You may find both boots have the same size (or almost the same size) of boot shell. The length of both boots should be written on the side of the boot near the heel piece.
Even just click the new boot into your bindings and check that the forward pressure is ok (there will be an indicator on your ski binding, although I'm not entirely sure where that will be on your specific binding.) If it is, no need to change the binding
If in doubt, take them to a ski shop to get checked. Better safe than sorry if you aren't sure!

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Thank you all for your quick answers. I will take them tomorrow to the ski shop and see if an adjustment is required, and I'll report back.

Good idea. Best not taking the risk!
Happy skiing.

Even two pairs of boots with the same Mondo size could easily have different sole length, so definitely get it checked if you're not sure. Ask them to show you the forward pressure indicator on your bindings so you can check this yourself another time, as it's easy for a binding to get knocked out of place.
