When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

How to find 'reasonably priced' accommodation in Chamonix?

Hey all,

First time here so please bear with me.

Trying to book up a holiday for 6 people in March and want to go to Chamonix. What we want is a catered chalet that is privately owned or run by experienced adults (i.e. not a huge tour operator hosted by hungover teenagers). All I can think of doing is try google, but its a mamoth task to sift through a lot of crud to find anything half decent.

Any thoughts for suitable websites or tips of nice chalets in/near Chamonix that isnt in the millionaires price bracket?

adambraddersppp, God help you!! Have had to book recently and could not beleive the price some of the places where charging!!!

I have no idea why there is not an OH MY GOD Chamonix is expensive thread a la the countless Swiss ones (At least in Swiss land you get an exchange rate)
