Poster: A snowHead
|
In February I am being sent out to Toulouse to work for 6 months, While I am out there I want to get a fair bit of weekend skiing in along with a 4day (5 night) break.
I am interested to hear any thoughts on where best to ski, and how difficult transport is from Toulouse (I'm not taking a car with me so Im stuck with Trains/Buses or at a worst case hiring a car.

Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person

Andorra is 3 hours by coach transfer, not sure about the Alps. I skied Andorra 2 years ago and will be heading out in 3 weeks. The skiing is as extensive (according to a friend of mine who has seasoned in Verbier) as a lot of the Alps.

Font Romeu, Eyne, Bolquere, Les Angles, all approx 1500m to 2500m high resorts,
Think there is a train station, in the vicinity (Mont Louis perhaps)

There's a station in Font Romeu too, they are all on Le Train Jeune line from Perpignan. Kruisler is your man for this, I think he originates from Toulouse.

the_fatadder, It may be that some resorts organise a day trip coach service to\from Toulouse. It's no help but I know 'ski buses' run in other parts of Europe. I'm pretty sure Luchon do a transfer coach but it's more for holiday makers. You may find a Ski club that runs a weekend coach too.

MEfree30, you've got your translation a bit wrong on the first part!
It says:
It is NOT imperative to make the return trip on the same day as the outward journey. The return journey can be made up until the end of the validity period marked on the ticket.
