Poster: A snowHead

OK, so I thought this would be really easy, but google is not helping me.
I have a daypack which I really like: http://www.mysteryranch.com/recreation/skiing-snowboarding-packs/sweetpea-pack
It's really comfortable and ticks pretty much every box for me, but there is one design flaw: the loops for ski carrying are too small to fit my skis in
I figured I could just buy a strip of rucksack webbing with an adjuster on it and attach to the existing loops but I can't find such a thing in a UK shop. Clearly I MUST be being an idiot - can anyone suggest a suitable retailer? I even tried my local army surplus store and not even they could help!

Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

altis, thanks. All my searches just take me to actual rucksacks, not webbing, so climbing shop it is.
pam w, neat idea too - there's a chadler not far away so maybe I'll pop in and see how elastic these might / might not be.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

zammo, any chandler will sell a range of bungee, including some really tough stuff. You can buy the bobbles and make your own, if the made up ones aren't right (they are likely to be too long,as well as too stretchy, being designed as sail ties).

B&Q does some webbing which you can buy off a real, they also can provide a reasonable selection of buckles and other fastenings, you may also find suppliers of Outdoor fabrics can help out with such things as well, One I can recall is Pennine Outdoor, Another is PointNorth
Two things to bear in mind making your own straps, synthetic webbing should ideally be cut with a heated knife blade or it will just unravel, if you don't have such a thing you can improvise by using a soldering iron or even a naked flame, but be careful you don't melt too much
Secondly when sewing webbing try to do so on a sewing machine with a very close zig zag stich across the whole width of the webbing, this will give a strong long lasting join
