Poster: A snowHead

Looking for a nice catered chalet/small hotel for 4 of us over next Christmas.
We are 3 skiers (1 excellent "gung ho" try anything, 2 intermediates - like cruising but no off piste) and a very competent boarder. Accomodation must be positioned within very easy distance of the slopes. Something as snow sure as you can be early in the season. Open to suggestions?
thanks.

Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person

We had a good week here last December, stayed next door the year before, both are over the road to the piste (like 4 metres from door to piste) and very snow sure for Xmas.

Reasonable balance of price vs quality, and the staff were very capable and friendly across the resort. Tignes has something for everybody in your group. If you booked into the smaller chalet you would probably be one of the larger groups - they only get 10 in there. The larger chalet has the benefit of a separate kitchen area and a larger group to socialise with, but you don't know who the others are going to be...

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Thanks for that. Looks very nice. We have never stayed in a chalet before so will have to think carefully - though we really feel it would suit us! A nice small hotel would do equally well and we will not be able to book until at least October so will have to accept that availability may be a bit limited too. Any other suggestions welcome. Thanks.

PS, have a look at Silver Ski, they have some good chalets we have been with them three times, or Ski Amis and More Alps, we did Mark Warner for the first time and that was OK if you wanted a hotel, will be off again with them soon so will post what they where like.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

PS, given your requirements I'd second Monium's suggestion. I don't remember seeing any negative press about Ski Olympic on Snowheads. We had some great holidays with them, but some years ago now.

PS, have a look at www.morealps.com or www.amountainchalet.com both in La Rosiere which is very snow sure. Ski Olympic also have a number of chalets in La Rosiere although not all of them are close to the slopes. There is however a very good, free ski-bus service throughout the village.

PS, Only one... of all the average to appalling stuff I have stayed everywhere in Europe, although not bothered with the £2K a week stuff in Val'd must admit
Chalet Ptarmigan, Booth Falls, Vail Colorado. Ski Independence, they will arrange all for you, fly to Eagle rent a car. Vail, Beaver Creek, Copper await,
be quick even now, it fills very quickly.
