Help!!
Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

The inside of my helmet appears to be coming loose from the shell. I've never actually landed on it, but it has suffered a few accidental drops and being kicked around by many a baggage handler. So, should I be buying a new helmet? Or is it still ok to carry on?

New one, simples.
Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

As a biker, I would replace. As a skier, I would replace. If you are using it the last thing you want it to do is fail.

Just when we all thought every single helmet question had been asked
would you keep using your skis if they were broken?
Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Hey, I took a great amount of pride in starting a helmet related thread that hadn't already been asked

That's what I was asking, "is it broken?" It's not obviously broken. The internal bit only moves a fraction within the shell and they are still attached to each other as you can't separate them.
Anyway, new helmet already ordered

suspect when you are trying to enjoy yourself skiing or conditions get bad, it'll probably give you jip when you least needed it. then you'll be messing about trying to make the helmet comfy all the time.
I personally have to sort out anything that would potentially compromise my safety or enjoyment on the slopes. I get kitted up in the morning and don't have to fidget with any of my gear all day long.
you gotta ask yourself if it is worth the hassle.
