Here at Anything Technical, we are the UKs distributor for Fritschi Diamir, a Swiss based company, who manufacture a range of ski touring bindings. The brand is renowned worldwide and is one of the most versatile bindings on the market. Unlike most other ‘ski touring bindings’ the Fritschi bindings release consistently with either an alpine or a walking sole.
They have the capability of performing to the same standard as any other alpine binding for aggressive piste skiing but then have the capability of quickly changing to a loose heel to allow the ski tourer to walk effortlessly during any ascent.

It would be very useful if you could give some info on the correct adjustment of fritschi bindings, specifically the forward presure, and front binding height adjustment. Thanks.

That's easy - even I can answer that one.
The forward pressure is set by the screw running inside the long bar. Click in the boot and unlock the heel so you can lift the bar and gain access to the screwhead. Adjust it so the head of the screw is flush with the plastic on the end of the bar. Click and unclick the boot a few times to make sure it's correct.
The toe height is set using the big screw in the middle of the toe-piece. Put a piece of paper over the bar in the toe area and click in the boot. Adjust the screw until you can just feel the boot pinching on the paper. Click and unclick the boot a few times again to check. I find there can be some variability on where the boot sits so you have to take a view on what's best. Remove the paper, stand on the ski with one foot and kick down on the side of the boot with the heel of your other to make sure it releases okay.

but always check when you go away especailly in colder conditions as the plastic will contract and will adjustslightly. But in most cases, you should be fine.

Oh, I've a pair of oldish Black Diamond skis that I was thinking of using for touring their 72mm underfoot. I was going to get some eagle bindings for them as I think the freeriders need 80mm. I think I might have to look elsewhere now which is a shame as I do like the look of these bindings and their a lot better than the 404's that I'm using at the moment.
