Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

hi all

we are trying to decide on where to go 25th feb..... we have skied in italy/france many times and thinking of giving austria a try ? but literally d on't know where to start!
i am a nervous intermediate, my husband confident intermediate. We are not huge fans of big treks lugging skis to get to lift/piste! apres isn't a big deal to us but a few bars would be nice but we be partying the evening/night away!
we've had a look on the web at solden/obertauren/obergurgl??? any suggestions greatfully recieved!
thanks

Hi cbowls30, If you haven't tried Austria yet you'll love it. Do you have budget in mind? What attracted you to the above? They all have have their +'s and -'s Obertauren and Obergurgl are relatively limited if you like to clock up mileage and don't have a great deal going on while Solden has lively apres ski but depending on where you stay you could be a treak from one of the 2 main gondolas up the mountain whilst Obertauren has allot of ski in ski out. Could you hang on and see where the best snow will be and then go?

The possibilities are endless budget will help refine the search a bit more, I like Iscghl but it's maybe not the best for timid intermediates, snow shouldn't be an issue at that time of year.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

cbowls30, Obergurgl would fit the bill well -doorstep skiing, some nice gentle runs and jolly small scale apres. Soelden, down the road, has mental apres ski - great if you and your husband are fans of Ballermann, but not so great if you are not.
