Poster: A snowHead
|
Arrived in a huge thunderstorm that dropped lots of snow above about 2700. Then had a week of hot sunshine before it turned cold again with lots more snow above 3000m. No good for skiing yet but the glaciers must be pleased.
By the way the Index chair is being replaced by a new detachable which shadows the currently line about 100m to the west. It also looks as though artifical snow hydrants are being installed below it.
Currently experiencing the usual post holiday inferiority syndrome. Is there anything we do in Britain that is obviously better or higher quality than France or Switzerland

Peter S, well we have very good architects and engineers so we're good at design, however, German, Swiss and French construction does in general seem superior to our own

Village pubs with open fires, good food, good ale, good company.
The French however do National Debt much better than us.

There is no country in the world that is quite as beautiful as the UK in terms of lush green countryside, we just don't appreciate it because we're here all the time.

You should try appreciating all the lush green cabbage fields and rolling fens round here - strangely I found Canada more appealing

stuarth, driving along through fields under plastic if it's a still day can sometimes seem like driving through snowy fields, do it on a windy day though and the fields look like stormy seas.

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.
