Here are the dates of the first natural snowfall of each season for the last 5 years.
2005/2006 28th November
2006/2007 22nd November
2007/2008 7th November
2008/2009 29th October
2009/2010 08th November (not sure if accurate)
2010/2011 16th November

CEM, You are right, theres adverts for Pisten Bully, La Plagne, The Arbrevoir Bar and Restaurant, Ski Passion hire shop and Paradiski in that picture, it's blatantly commercial, the snow is just an excuse

Just out of interest, what was regarded as the 'worst ever early season' in the Alps?
I went to Verbier in January 2007 (I think) and there was basically nothing below about 2100m. That was pretty bad. But I don't know what the preceding November/December had been like.

1992 March Les Gets was green as was Morzine we droove up to Avoriaz each day, The TO's were charging 70FF each way for the trip!
BTB, Just popped up to Oxford to take the Student back from a weekend at home, there were two snowploughs driving South on the A34! What do they know that we don't
