Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

I'm with SFR (and too lazy to change for the number of calls I make) but credit time expires quite quickly, eg a 5E top up only lasts 7 days, a 30E one lasts about a season. Also if you do not charge it for 6 months you lose the number and have to start again (however, you can recharge it from the UK if ou remember to by a chit before you leave.

provenjohn, beware the cheapo ones unless you've checked which network they use. SFR and Orange coverage is fine in the Alpes, Bouygtel less so, others quite likely to be pants.

Also advise ordering it online now - resort shops often run out of SIMs early in the season and it can take ages for them to get new stock. This was definitely the case in Courchevel the season I worked there - lots of seasonnaires, not many shops.

We looked at many deals and now use:

www.lefrenchmobile.com - all in English

We just needed a French mobile number for incoming calls and texts and the occasional outgoing calls and texts.
The unused credit does not expire. Seems quite competitive against the other 'lose your unused credit' sims.
There is a €1.40 charge per month, unless you spend at least €10. Happy to swallow that.

We went for the cheapest option, €20 for the SIM and €15 of credit.

Coverage is good in the Tarentaise (Tignes, BSM).

Looking to get another one now as we're happy with it. Although we'll hold back just in case someone on here finds a better deal Madeye-Smiley
