Anyone had hands on with this yet? would be interested in a comparison on ease of use compared to the Ortovox 3+

Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person

Haven't used one yet, but as I understand it, it's essentially a pulse with all the "keep it simple" options permanently on.
If that's the case, it would definitely be very nice to use - the pulse is dead easy. When training people with a pulse, I often just hand it to them and tell them just to try it.
I think there are some extra "easy" features in there too, such as additional audio warnings to let you know if you're moving away from the victim instead of towards them (i.e. you're on the flux line but going in the wrong direction) and I think it's also been set-up to reduce faffing in the final grid search - it essentially does away with this and just tells you to get on with probing/digging once it hits a minimum. I think this is a good idea for infrequent users as I've found the initial "minimum signal" point to be very accurate with a pulse. As a pro user (IML/instructor) I can usually get some improvement with a fine grid search, but for the time it takes it's debatable whether or not it's worth bothering.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

This the runway method going down to snow level and then spiral probing? looking for easy as be taking straight to a two day avi course. So miminal pick up time would be cool.. I know the full on Pulse is very well regarded.

Exactly. Although if you're doing a course, they'll almost certainly teach you to do a fine search. If you can, i'd hold fire until after the course as you'll likely get a chance to try a few different systems, which should help you decide which one to go for.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

papasmurf, not tried the Element or the Pulse yet, but looking into it for the future, IMHO the Tracker 2 beats the 3+ but only just especially on the speed of fine/final serach and the 3+ works better on multi burials than the Tracker 2
